About This Role
This role is the welcoming face of the Treehouse Children’s Museum, ensuring every visitor feels greeted, informed, and supported. The Museum Attendant assists at the front desk, engages with guests on the museum floor, helps maintain a clean, safe, and fun environment, and supports the museum’s gift shop.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome visitors, providing friendly and helpful customer service
- Process admissions, memberships, and gift shop purchases at the front desk using the POS system
- Assist customers with gift shop merchandise, pricing, and sales
- Keep up-to-date on featured products, restocks, and seasonal items
- Answer questions about exhibits, programs, and museum policies
- Assist with check-in for birthday parties, field trips, and special events
- Monitor museum galleries to ensure safety and positive visitor interactions
- Engage children and families in play and learning activities
- Report exhibit or safety concerns to the Operations Manager
- Restock and organize materials in exhibit and play areas
- Perform light cleaning throughout the day, including sanitizing surfaces, sweeping, and organizing play areas
- Maintain the gift shop’s cleanliness, organization, and restocking displays throughout the day
- Ensure merchandise is attractively displayed and pricing is accurate
- Assist with daily opening and closing procedures
- Support the team in keeping the museum tidy and ready for visitors
- Help set up, monitor, and clean up after special events and programs
- Provide support to Education staff during workshops or crafts
- Represent Treehouse positively during community events and rentals
- Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and other team members
- Model Treehouse’s friendly and inclusive atmosphere
- Support volunteers and other staff as needed during busy times
Requirements
- Friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with children and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable in an active, playful environment
- Must be able to stand for long periods and occasionally lift light objects (up to 25 lbs)
- Must be available to work on Saturdays
Nice to have:
- Customer service, retail, or hospitality experience

- Schedule: Must be available to work Saturdays from 9:00am-4:00pm
