Municipal Engineer

About This Role

This engineering role involves working with local communities on a variety of civil, municipal, and environmental projects. The position suits a Professional Engineer who can collaborate with CAD Technicians, Construction Observers, Land Survey Chiefs, and office staff in various capacities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical engineering reports
• Prepare or modify plans, specifications, construction schedules, permits, and cost and quantity estimates for public works projects
• Work with Construction Observers/Resident Technicians during all facets of construction
• Assist Project Manager in completing project within budget and on schedule
• Maintain client contact, including attendance at board or council meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering design experience preferred/desired
• Iowa PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year preferred
• Previous roadway, storm sewer, sanitary collection sewers and water distribution design experience desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
