MRI Technologist (PRN)

Role Overview: This position involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures, primarily MRI, with a focus on patient safety, quality imaging, and compassionate care. The technologist independently sets up equipment, positions patients, and ensures proper technique to produce clinically acceptable results. They respond to emergency situations, verify patient identity, and maintain patient dignity and comfort throughout procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history, assess contraindications, and follow protocols for contrast media administration.
• Review images for quality, ensure equipment functionality, and transmit studies to PACS.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment, restock supplies, and assist with patient transport and positioning.
• Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and ensure understanding using AIDET principles.
• Participate in departmental training, documentation, and quality control measures.
• Operate MRI equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and adhere to regulatory standards.
• Perform clerical duties, support team members, and take call when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification in ARMRIT or ARRT-MR and BLS certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience, preferably in MRI settings.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, multitask, and perform effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of anatomy, pathology, MRI pulse sequences, and safety protocols.
