DESCRIPTION

Under supervision, incumbent will assist and support the clinical efforts in the UTE Imaging Group of the Department of Radiology. Provide all aspects of data recording and entry, collection of image regions of interest. File and organize FDA, IRB, and NIH correspondence and study records. In adherence to UC, state, and federal safety regulations, incumbent will recruit research subjects, schedule appointments, perform proper collection of informed consent, subject bill of rights and HIPAA of subject recruitment. Create and maintain regulatory documents in accordance with UCSD HRPP guidelines and the department of research and compliance. Create and maintain enrollment logs and charts and perform data quality assurance on subject files. Incumbent will participate in research meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Theoretical knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body, such as typically acquired by a Bachelor's Degree in biology or related field.
  • Demonstrated research experience in a radiology lab. Specifically, demonstrated ability to perform standard repetitive techniques that may be required in research protocols related to specific lab.
  • Experience with basic lab safety requirements and procedures.
  • Experience maintaining inventories and ordering supplies.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out and track multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and apply protocols in conducting research. Demonstrated ability in following stepwise experimental protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient/study subject data.
  • Ability to compose letters, proposals, email, reports, presentations, and other comprehensive materials using correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing, formatting, and proofreading skills to clearly and concisely provide accurate information.
  • Demonstrated experience with the operation of a personal computer and software, such as MS Word and Excel. Knowledge to work with and learn new software for analysis.
  • Demonstrated skill in accurate record keeping and ability to organize, analyze, and calculate data. Knowledge of basic math.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) needed to interact professionally and effectively in work environment, as well as effectively and accurately document research procedures. Ability to read, comprehend and discuss research materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • UCSD research experience in radiology.
  • Experience with UCSD HRPP guidelines.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $62,891 - $75,022 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.12 - $35.93

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
