About This Role
This role is for an experienced and motivated Loan Officer to join a growing retail team. The position is ideal for a self-driven mortgage professional who excels at building relationships, originating business, and delivering an exceptional customer experience throughout the home financing process.
Responsibilities
- Originate residential mortgage loans through self-generated business and referral partnerships
- Develop and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, financial planners, CPAs, and other referral sources
- Build a consistent pipeline through networking, prospecting, and local market engagement
- Consult with borrowers to evaluate financial and credit data to determine financing solutions
- Guide clients through the mortgage process from application through closing
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and company lending regulations
- Utilize CRM and marketing tools to manage leads, referrals, and ongoing client communication
- Collaborate with internal operations teams to ensure timely and smooth loan closings
- Stay informed on mortgage products, market trends, and industry guidelines
Requirements
- Active NMLS license required
- Previous mortgage loan origination experience preferred
- Proven ability to self-source and develop referral-based business
- Established referral relationships and local market presence strongly preferred
- Strong sales, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and jumbo loan products
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
