7-Eleven – Mahwah, NJ

We are looking for an experienced, energetic, dependable, and customer-focused team member to join our 7-Eleven store for the morning shift.

This position is for someone who takes pride in their work, stays productive without constantly being told what to do, and understands that working in a convenience store means helping with whatever is reasonably needed to keep the store clean, stocked, organized, and ready for customers.

We are especially interested in candidates with previous 7-Eleven, convenience store, gas station, retail, or food-service experience.

This is not a position for someone who only wants to stand behind the register. Everyone on our team helps with the overall store operation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally and provide excellent service
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately
• Recommend products, promotions, fresh foods, drinks, and special offers
• Help increase sales through friendly and appropriate upselling
• Prepare and maintain coffee, hot foods, bakery products, and fresh-food displays
• Keep coffee and food-service areas clean, fresh, and fully stocked
• Stock shelves, coolers, displays, and promotional areas
• Receive and organize merchandise and deliveries when required
• Check expiration dates and rotate inventory properly
• Maintain proper product presentation and store standards
• Clean counters, floors, food areas, equipment, restrooms, and other store areas as required
• Take out trash and handle routine cleaning and store-maintenance duties
• Handle spills and other store situations promptly
• Follow 7-Eleven routines, safety procedures, and company policies
• Handle lottery, tobacco, and other age-restricted transactions according to policy
• Communicate shortages, equipment issues, customer concerns, or unusual situations to management
• Keep the store clean, stocked, organized, and customer-ready

Experience & Qualifications

• Previous 7-Eleven, convenience store, gas station, retail, or food-service experience is strongly preferred
• Strong customer-service and communication skills
• Comfortable recommending and upselling products
• Cash-register and cash-handling experience preferred
• Dependable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow procedures and management instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend, reach, stock merchandise, and lift light-to-moderate products and supplies
• Must be dependable for scheduled morning shifts

The Person We Want
