About This Role
This role is for a senior mobile app developer to take ownership of a mobile platform and help shape the future of an AI-powered product for an AgTech company. It suits a developer who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, building high-quality mobile applications, and working on software with a genuine real-world impact.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the mobile platform, including architecture, performance, and reliability
- Build and enhance applications using React Native, making informed decisions around native iOS and Android development where required
- Design robust offline-first functionality for users operating in low-connectivity environments
- Optimize applications for performance, battery usage, and device limitations
- Manage the end-to-end mobile application lifecycle, from development through to App Store and Google Play releases
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering teams
- Integrate AI and Machine Learning capabilities into mobile applications
- Drive engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement across the mobile platform
Requirements
- 8+ years' software development experience, including at least 5 years focused on mobile applications
- Strong commercial React Native experience
- Experience with native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development
- Deep understanding of mobile architecture, performance optimization, and scalability
- Experience building and maintaining production mobile applications
- Experience working with REST APIs and cloud services
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and mobile testing practices
- A product mindset and passion for building exceptional user experiences
