About the role
Southeast Valley Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Middle School Title I Literacy Teacher to provide targeted reading instruction and intervention to students who need additional support in developing literacy skills.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide targeted literacy instruction and interventions to middle school students.
- Assess student literacy needs and use data to guide instruction.
- Develop and implement effective, differentiated reading strategies.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other support personnel.
- Maintain appropriate documentation of student progress and interventions.
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student growth and confidence.
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate licensure/endorsement for the position.
- Reading/literacy endorsement preferred or required as applicable.
- Experience providing reading intervention or literacy instruction preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to helping students develop foundational and advanced literacy skills.
