Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded AM Law 50 international law firm seeking a Capital Markets (Securities) Associate to join its Los Angeles office.
The opportunity centers on public securities offerings and ongoing public-company counseling, including governance and SEC reporting matters. Associates will work across sophisticated client relationships and handle the day-to-day demands of active capital markets and public-company matters.

The Role
The successful attorney will support and lead key components of Capital Markets (Securities) Associate matters, including:
- Represent companies and/or underwriters in public securities offerings.
- Support IPOs and other equity or equity-linked transactions.
- Advise public companies on corporate governance matters.
- Counsel clients on SEC and exchange reporting and compliance requirements.
- Manage day-to-day client needs and workflow across multiple sophisticated matters.
- Coordinate transaction and compliance workstreams with internal teams and clients.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a Capital Markets (Securities) Associate with:
- Three to seven years of capital markets and public securities experience.
- Experience with public securities offerings, including IPOs and other equity or equity-linked transactions.
- Experience advising public companies on governance, SEC reporting and exchange compliance.
- Ability to manage client relationships and competing workflow demands.
Preferred / advantageous: Experience in the capital markets department of a national or international law firm and a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school are preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $260,000-$420,000, depending on experience, qualifications and other relevant factors.
