Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Microsoft Purview Data Catalog Consultant for a leading enterprise client undergoing a data governance transformation. This individual will play a critical role in building and operationalizing an enterprise-wide data catalog while establishing practical governance processes that support business ownership of data assets. The ideal candidate is highly hands-on and has personally implemented Microsoft Purview or a similar data catalogue platform, onboarded and cataloged multiple data sources, established business glossaries, configured metadata standards, assigned stewardship responsibilities, and enabled end-to-end lineage visibility.
This consultant will work closely with business domain owners, data stewards, data engineering teams, security teams, and leadership to drive adoption within a federated governance model where governance standards are set centrally while ownership remains within the business domains. The successful candidate will be able to quickly assess current-state governance practices, implement scalable cataloging solutions, simplify governance participation for business users, and create visibility into enterprise data assets across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and related platforms.
The ideal candidate is not simply someone who has participated in governance programs but someone who has directly executed and led Microsoft Purview data catalog implementations and can hit the ground running from day one. This is a 3 month contract.
