Microbiologist

About This Role

This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations within a highly visible operational Quality Assurance team. The Microbiologist will be well-versed in relevant company procedures, GLP/GDP, safety, and FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sample collection, incubation, review, and identification of environmental monitoring and process verification samples
• Prepare microbiological samples for external identification
• Update datasets
• Perform media release testing
• Conduct peer reviews
• Trend data
• Maintain laboratory logbooks
• Maintain cleanliness
• Perform inventory checks
• Manage policies and procedures
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration
• Conduct investigations
• Implement corrective actions
• Review reports
• Participate in employee training as required by Microbiology Management
• Other job duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a life science or related field of study
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Previous experience in operating and adjusting various equipment for purposes such as performing standardized tests or operations, requiring considerable training and experience
• Ability to apply independent judgment regarding what needs to be done based on standard choices
• Must be able to recognize the existence of and difference among easily recognizable situations with respect to information or transactions available
• Superior and proven written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Priority setting skills
