About the role
Role Overview A Metrology Specialist supporting Tooling, Production, R&D, and Flight Test operations with a focus on measurement activities. This role involves collaborating with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure tooling and aircraft components meet engineering and aerodynamic standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional measurement and verification using advanced tools such as laser trackers, 3D scanners, and metrology arms.
- Analyze measurement data to confirm conformance to drawings, specifications, and CAD models.
- Create detailed inspection reports and support measurement strategy development.
- Support tooling build, assembly, and adjustment activities, assisting with fixture setup and troubleshooting.
- Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment to ensure accuracy and readiness.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical degree or equivalent hands-on metrology experience (3+ years preferred).
- Experience with portable metrology equipment and tooling measurement support.
- Proficiency in metrology software (e.g., Verisurf, Spatial Analyzer) and strong understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models, with familiarity with CATIA V5.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Physical ability to handle items up to 50 lbs and work in environments with noise, heat, dust, and odors.
- Comfort with prolonged standing, bending, climbing, and manual handling.
- Adherence to safety regulations and effective communication skills.
