You’ll report to the Machine Shop Supervisor and operate within a culture that prizes safety, 5S discipline, and craftsmanship. Local candidates only.

What you’ll do
- Operate metal-removal and metal-forming machinery in the manufacturing department.
- Set up machine tools, parts, and castings to meet print requirements; anticipate variable setup times based on size and complexity.
- Select and apply precision measuring equipment and appropriate hand tools.
- Interpret drawings, sketches, written, and verbal instructions (not to conflict with PP-09-01).
- Execute close-tolerance machining to engineering drawings and written standards.
- Fabricate required jigs and fixtures when needed.
- Maintain housekeeping and comply with all safety and criticality procedures; practice 5S every shift.
- Ensure tolerance compliance by monitoring quality during machining.
- Load—or coordinate loading—of your machining center.
- Run multiple machines concurrently when permitted by proximity, training, and qualifications.
- As qualified, modify and troubleshoot machining programs; this may be optional based on your training and machine qualification.
- Perform with minimal supervision.
What you bring
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience and operational proficiency as a Westinghouse – Newington Machinist B (or recognized equivalent).
- Solid knowledge of CNC G-code.
- Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, and set-up methods for quality machining.
- Regular application of 5S principles.
- Working knowledge of programming.
