Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded AM Law 50 law firm seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney (Mid-Level) to join its San Francisco, CA office.
The role offers sophisticated domestic and cross-border M&A work for major companies, financial sponsors and other institutional clients. Associates can build experience across buy-side and sell-side transactions while taking on progressively greater responsibility within collaborative deal teams.

The Role
The successful attorney will support and lead key components of the practice, including:
- Advise on domestic and cross-border M&A and other strategic transactions.
- Support buy-side and sell-side transaction execution.
- Analyze and address structural and corporate issues in complex deals.
- Draft and negotiate transaction documentation.
- Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams throughout transactions.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney (Mid-Level) with:
- 2–4 years of significant M&A and strategic-transactions experience.
- Experience handling domestic and cross-border transactions on both the buy and sell side.
- Strong understanding of acquisitions, divestitures, strategic alliances, spin-offs, carve-outs, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and tender offers.
- Excellent research, analytical, communication and client-service skills.
- Admission to the state bar where practicing, or eligibility to waive in.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $260,000–$365,000, depending on experience, qualifications and other relevant factors.
