Role Overview
The MEP Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating Mechanical & Electrical i nstallation activities for data center design and build projects.
The role will work closely with MEP Engineers, Construction Managers, subcontractors, vendors, commissioning teams, and other project stakeholders to ensure MEP works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards.
The position will support the project from construction through testing, commissioning, and handover.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily MEP installation activities on site.
- Monitor MEP subcontractors and ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
- Coordinate MEP works with structural, architectural, and other trades to avoid clashes and construction delays.
- Review MEP drawings, layouts, shop drawings, and technical documents to support site execution.
- Monitor installation of MEP systems, including HVAC, chilled water, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and associated building services.
- Ensure materials, equipment, and installation works comply with approved specifications and quality requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify installation defects, technical issues, and safety concerns.
- Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning teams to resolve site issues.
- Monitor work progress and provide updates on construction status, manpower, materials, and potential delays.
- Support MEP testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and integrated systems testing activities.
- Ensure MEP works comply with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, coordination meetings, inspections, and site walkdowns.
- Maintain daily site records, inspection reports, progress updates, and relevant documentation.
- Support punch-list closure, testing completion, and final handover of MEP systems.
Education and Skill
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering , or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant MEP construction and site supervision experience .
- Experience in data center, industrial, commercial, or other large-scale projects is preferred.
- Good knowledge of MEP installation and construction practices.
- Able to read and understand MEP drawings, layouts, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
- Good understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and associated building services systems.
- Experience in testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of construction safety and quality requirements.
- Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to supervise subcontractors and manage multiple site activities effectively.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project schedule.
- Willing to work extended hours, shifts, weekends, or public holidays when required by project activities.
