Mental Health Telemedicine Physician (Part-time)

About This Role

This part-time role involves providing short-term, evidence-based mental health treatment via live video appointments. The physician will conduct mental health evaluations and manage medication, working within a collaborative care model that includes consulting with psychiatrists and primary care physicians. The position suits a physician passionate about delivering culturally-responsive, high-quality mental health care to clients from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Practice comprehensive, virtual mental health medication management via 90-minute intake appointments and 30-minute follow-up appointments
• Conduct mental health risk assessments and evaluations
• Document treatment recommendations, message patients, and prescribe medication using Lyra’s custom-built mental health EHR
• Consult with team psychiatrist and peers in regular 1:1 and group consultation

Requirements

• Board certified MD or DO, ideally in internal medicine or family medicine
• Two+ years post residency, with experience in longitudinal, continuity of care models
• Unrestricted license
• Strong interest in, and passion for, mental health
• Desire to deepen expertise in mental health care
• Excellent time management skills
• Comfortable using technology to deliver care virtually
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States
• Able to dedicate 20 hours total across 3-5 days per week. Flexible scheduling is allowed and encouraged, however the primary commitment is during regular business hours with some patient communication requiring communication outside of these set hours as well.
