Mental Health Technician

About This Role

This role involves supporting patients in an outpatient treatment program for mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. The Mental Health Associate participates in group sessions, supervises patient breaks, monitors urine drug screens, and handles various clerical and operational activities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an understanding of adolescent growth and development and co-facilitate didactic and experiential groups or be willing to learn to co-facilitate groups
• Involve driving, sitting, walking, handling charts, and talking on the phone for extended periods
• Participate in written and verbal shift changes by communicating with staff either verbally or in written communication logs and shift updates
• Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for clients as directed by supervisors and the clinical team
• Support the daily structure by helping clients attend all scheduled activities
• Facilitate activities including recreational groups and meetings under the direction of supervisors
• Participate in team meetings
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field
• At least one (1) year of experience working with adolescent populations
• Valid Driver's License

• Schedule: Full time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
