Mental Health Specialist

About This Role

This role as a Mental Health Specialist involves supporting and providing a high-quality experience to Dialogue members by assessing their needs and guiding them through their healthcare journey. The specialist will coach members with mild mental health symptoms and navigate them to appropriate resources. This position is ideal for someone with a background in social work, crisis intervention, or short-term coaching, who is specialized in mental health and offers an empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Assess the needs and requests of members on the platform
• Accompany members in their health care journey in collaboration with other professionals
• Offer support to members to achieve objectives using a motivational interviewing approach
• Ensure patient navigation to other resources complementary to services
• Participate in and develop the database of community/public resources in Canada and pamphlets on mental health
• Be responsible for patient safety in your member-facing role

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a mental health or human relations field
• 2+ years of intervention experience as a social worker or other related experience, comfortable with short-term interventions and mental health issues
• Availability to work a minimum of 8 hours per week (up to 32 hours) during the day, evening (up to 8 pm), and weekends
• Very good knowledge of community and institutional resources
• A desire to work in an environment that encourages autonomy, professionalism, and versatility

Important Details

• Schedule: minimum of 8 hours per week (up to 32 hours) during the day, evening (up to 8 pm), and weekends
• Work format: hybrid (3 days/week in Montreal or Toronto offices), excluding remote roles
