Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist - Mental Health

About This Role

This role provides direct community support and case management services to assigned individuals, applying Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, Recovery Philosophy, and Evidence-Based practices. The specialist educates and supports individuals and their families, coordinating service needs and collaborating with various agencies. The position involves assessments, mental health rehabilitation services, case management, crisis intervention, integrated whole person care, and trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct members served community support and case management services to assigned members served using Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, Recovery Philosophy, and Evidence-Based practices
• Provide education and support to members served and their families
• Coordinate service needs and collaborate with other services and agencies such as the Conservator's Office, Public Defender's Office, Child and Adult Protective Services, Probation Department, Inpatient Services, Long Term Care Services, Residential Settings, and County Mental Health Services
• Complete assessments
• Provide mental health rehabilitation services, case management, crisis intervention, integrated whole person care, and trauma informed care

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services or Social Services and two (2) years of experience providing direct services in Mental Health; or
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services or Social Services and four (4) years of experience providing direct services in Mental Health; or
• Associate's Degree and six (6) years of experience providing direct services in Mental Health

Alameda County Youth CSU is a Crisis Stabilization Unit serving youth populations within Alameda County. These programs provide screening/triage, medication support and brief treatment in a safe, protective setting. These programs are sometimes co-located with acute inpatient programs, allowing for a 'warm hand-off' transfer when needed. The typical length of stay is up to 24 hours.
