About the role
Role Overview The Medication Aide/Med Tech is responsible for safely administering medications and treatments to residents in accordance with physician orders, while ensuring accuracy and dignity. This role requires meticulous documentation, adherence to safety and infection control standards, and monitoring residents for health changes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments per physician instructions
- Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration
- Accurately document in MAR/TAR in real time
- Observe residents during and after medication passes
- Monitor symptoms and provide symptom relief medications as ordered
- Report refusals or concerns promptly
- Complete narcotic counts and maintain organized medication areas
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma/GED and age 18+
- Medication Administration certification, CPR, and First Aid certifications
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Preferred experience in senior care
