Job Summary: The Medication Assistant (MA) provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, obtaining vital signs, providing psycho-social support, transferring, repositioning, guiding exercises, and supporting dining activities. They administer prescribed medications within scope, document care outcomes, communicate changes to the charge nurse, and collect non-invasive specimens. Additional duties involve housekeeping, laundry, and encouraging participation in wellness and recreational programs.
Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma or GED preferred; minimum age 18; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience preferred. Must complete competency testing annually and maintain required certifications. Certification requirements vary by state, including CNA and medication aide certifications. Ability to follow state regulations and document care accurately is essential.
Key Duties: Provide personal care, medication administration, vital sign collection, and support resident activities. Communicate effectively with care team, maintain documentation, and assist with household tasks to ensure resident well-being.
