Medical Transcriptionist

About This Role

Transcribing medical information from doctors' notes into a medical database is the primary focus of this role, along with retrieving data and ensuring accuracy. The position requires a candidate who can handle sensitive medical records with integrity and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical information from doctors' notes into the medical database software
• Retrieve medical data from the system on request from authorized personnel
• Report or correct any discrepancies in the source document or the database
• Attend telephone calls from doctors and patients requesting report updates
• Maintain accuracy of entered data by checking and rechecking the source document or the database
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of all medical records, ensuring no information is shared or discussed without prior permission of the doctor and reporting manager
• File and store office records as needed
• Perform any other duties assigned by the reporting manager and consultants
