Medical Transcriptionist

About This Role

This Medical Transcriptionist role involves preparing accurate clinical documentation from provider dictation. The work supports care teams by ensuring access to clear, reliable records, with accurate and timely documentation helping providers coordinate patient care.

Responsibilities

• Transcribe medical dictation into clear, properly formatted clinical records using transcription software and word-processing tools
• Proofread and edit documents for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and consistency while preserving the provider’s intended meaning
• Apply medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology when interpreting dictated notes; flag unclear content for review
• Maintain confidentiality and follow established procedures for handling patient information
• Organize and prioritize transcription assignments to support timely completion

Requirements

• Strong English skills, typing accuracy, and demonstrated ability in transcription, proofreading, and editing
• Familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology
• Experience with word processing and transcription software
• Medical transcription experience is preferred; medical office experience is an asset
• Careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage work independently
