Medical Transcriptionist

About This Role

The Medical Transcriptionist documents patient encounters in real-time to streamline workflow and improve the quality of patient care. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate and complete medical records.

Responsibilities

• Document patient history, physical exam, and treatment plan into the electronic medical record
• Communicate with providers to ensure all information is correct and complete
• Comply with all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality
• Perform clerical tasks as needed, such as chart preparation before patient appointments

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• 2+ years' experience as a medical secretary or scribe/transcriptionist preferred
• Excellent English written and verbal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass basic word processing and data entry skills tests
• Typing: 45 wpm (tested)
• Knowledge of medical terminology
