About the role
Are you an experienced Medical Technologist ready to take the next step into a lead role?
We’re looking for a Medical Technologist Lead to support laboratory operations on the evening/night shift and serve as the primary laboratory point of contact for the facility’s trauma team.
This is an opportunity for an experienced MT who is comfortable working across multiple laboratory disciplines and wants to play a key role in supporting quality, patient care, and laboratory operations.
What You’ll Do
- Perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing across multiple technical disciplines
- Work in Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry, and Hematology
- Serve as the primary laboratory point of contact for the facility trauma team on your assigned shift
- Apply independent judgment and knowledge of laboratory medicine to ensure timely and accurate results
- Perform testing according to established procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain required licensure and competency across assigned laboratory sections
- Support specimen collection, processing, and referral testing as needed
- Help achieve department goals related to quality, regulatory compliance, patient satisfaction, service, and financial performance
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership and other departments to support an effective work environment
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Active Florida Medical Technologist License
- Associate Degree in Science or related field
- 3–5+ years of clinical medical laboratory experience
- Technical experience in all three of the following:
- Blood Bank / Immunohematology
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Ability to work evening/night shift
- Ability to serve as the laboratory's primary point of contact for the trauma team during the assigned shift
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
- Experience working across 5 or more areas of the laboratory
- Previous Lead Medical Technologist, Senior MT, Charge Technologist, Supervisor, or similar leadership experience
