About This Role
Making a meaningful contribution to patient care is the core of this Medical Scribe role, which involves working closely with physicians and clinical staff. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in medicine, including pre-med students, to gain valuable clinical experience. The Medical Scribe ensures accurate and timely documentation, contributing to a smooth, efficient, and patient-focused healthcare experience.
Responsibilities
- Accurately document patient encounters, medical histories, physical examinations, assessments, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Support physicians and healthcare providers with timely, high-quality clinical documentation during patient visits
- Review and update patient information, including medications, allergies, and medical histories, as directed
- Assist with chart preparation and document follow-up instructions to support continuity of care
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements
- Assist with clinical and administrative tasks to help maintain an organized and efficient workflow
- Communicate professionally and enthusiastically with physicians, healthcare staff, and patients
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning
- Move between all locations with physicians
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Pre-med students and individuals interested in pursuing a career in healthcare are strongly encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong typing, organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities
- Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional demeanor, reliability, and exceptional attention to detail
- A strong commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
- Willingness to relocate as needed
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
