About the role
Job Overview:
Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Investigator to identify and resolve denied, rejected, underpaid, unpaid, and aging medical claims. In this role, you will investigate root causes of claim issues, perform payer follow-ups, and document findings to prevent repeat revenue loss. This part-time position offers a steady schedule and an opportunity to make an immediate impact on revenue-cycle operations.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM EST; Part-time, 20 work hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Investigate denied, rejected, underpaid, and aging claims.
- Determine the root cause and appropriate next action.
- Identify recurring payer or billing issues.
- Document findings clearly in Tebra.
- Recommend ways to prevent repeat revenue loss.
Requirements
- Hands-on Tebra billing experience.
- Medical billing / revenue-cycle experience.
- Denial and A/R investigation experience.
- EOB/ERA review experience.
- Experience with appeals, corrected claims, and payer follow-up.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with outpatient physical therapy billing.
- Proficiency with WebPT.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
