Role Description This full-time, on-site Medical Assistant/Receptionist position is based in New Milford, NJ and supports Dermatology and Internal Medicine practices. The role includes performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, assisting with procedures, and updating electronic medical records. Daily responsibilities also involve front desk duties, including greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, managing check-in and check-out processes, and answering phones in a professional manner. The Medical Assistant/Receptionist collaborates with clinicians and staff to coordinate patient flow, maintain organized exam and waiting rooms, and ensure timely, compassionate patient service. The role requires adherence to safety, infection control, and privacy standards while supporting a positive, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, and supporting dermatology/internal medicine workflows.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to communicate effectively with clinicians and accurately document patient information.
- Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office setting, including scheduling, reception, insurance verification, and patient check-in/check-out.
- Candidates should possess patient-centered Patient Care abilities, such as maintaining comfort, respecting privacy, and responding to patient needs with professionalism.
- Candidates should possess skills in managing Medical Records, including accurate charting, electronic health record (EHR) use, and compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant clinical certification preferred.
- Previous experience in dermatology, internal medicine, or ambulatory care settings is beneficial.
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity
