Medical Assistant

About This Role

Medical Assistants support healthcare providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner within a medical office setting. This role involves assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining accurate documentation, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations, all while functioning within a defined scope of practice under supervision and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Function within defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Attend MA Clinic Academy training (for new hires)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth
• Demonstrates knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served
• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Nice to have:

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• One year of experience in an outpatient or ambulatory care setting
