About the role
Job Summary/Essential Job Functions:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Medical Administrative Assistant is responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting patient payments, telephone triage, and general office duties.
- Performs patient registration/check-ins, patient collections, insurance and demographic verifications.
- Prepares and mails new patient applications.
- Completes PCP change forms when necessary, during check-in process.
- Answers phone calls and routes calls and messages through EMR.
- Schedules interpreter for hearing-impaired patients.
- Communicates with patients regarding appointments and wait times.
- Maintains cleanliness of front office space and waiting rooms.
- Answer appointment line and assist patients with scheduling appointments.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education:
High School diploma or GED (Transcript Required)
Experience:
One (1) year of experience in an administrative role in an office-based setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
- Good computer skills.
- Knowledge and ability to work in Microsoft Office.
Work Schedule:
This position may be occasionally required to work evenings.
