Media Relations - Corporate Affairs, SPX Express

Job Description

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with credible national, local, and industry media.
• Monitor news coverage, media trends, and social media conversations related to the logistics industry and SPX Express brand.
• Plan, develop, and execute media plans and engagement activities to strengthen relationships with key media stakeholders.
• Prepare, review, and manage responses to media inquiries, including media statements, briefings, and background materials.
• Identify relevant issues, trends, and business updates that can be developed into proactive media angles and pitches.
• Support the External Communications team in distributing press releases, media statements, and other communication materials to targeted media.
• Maintain and regularly update an effective media database to support communication campaigns and media outreach.
• Track and analyze media coverage to evaluate communication impact, sentiment, and potential reputational risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience working in Media, Media Relations, or a related role.
• Strong network and working relationships with national, local, and industry media are preferred.
• Proven experience in developing and executing media plans, media engagement activities, and proactive media pitching.
• Strong ability to identify relevant issues, trends, and business updates that can be translated into effective media angles.
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare clear media statements, briefings, and background materials.
• Ability to manage media inquiries professionally and provide timely, accurate, and well-structured responses.
• Strong understanding of media monitoring, news analysis, public sentiment, and potential reputational risks.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with strong ownership and commitment to deliver high-quality work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to maintain professionalism when handling sensitive information or reputational matters.
