Role Overview
Provides direct patient care on a medical/surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educates on illness management, and ensures safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Develops and documents individualized care plans, collaborating with the healthcare team and respecting patient preferences and cultural needs. Uses critical nursing skills to evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, proactively communicating care plans across the continuum.
Qualifications & Skills
- Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree required; BSN preferred
- RN license required
- No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years preferred for higher education levels
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and patient-centered skills
