About the role
Role Overview The Medication Aide/Med Tech is responsible for administering medications and treatments to residents safely, accurately, and with dignity. They follow physician orders, adhere to the Six Rights of Medication Administration, and document all actions in MAR/TAR in real time. The role involves observing residents during and after medication passes, monitoring symptoms, reporting concerns promptly, and maintaining medication carts and rooms in a clean and organized manner. Compliance with infection control and safety standards is essential to ensure resident safety and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Accurately document medication administration
- Monitor residents' health and report changes or refusals
- Complete narcotic counts and maintain medication areas
- Follow safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma/GED and age 18+
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Preferred: experience in senior care
