About This Role
This role is for a skilled and dependable mechanic, preferably with diesel experience, to join the team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, heavy trucks, and related equipment. This is a long-term role with a stable and growing company.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment for damage or failures
- Perform diagnostics and repair service for equipment component failures
- Remove and replace damaged or defective components
- Operate support equipment including forklifts, man lifts, and service trucks
- Perform basic welds
- Clean the shop area
- Perform stocking functions
- Be cross-trained to work on cranes and heavy equipment
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Mechanical experience working with diesel engines, technical school a plus
- Comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
