Mechanical Startup

About This Role

This role supports the commissioning and startup of power generation facilities, assisting with mechanical systems on large-scale EPC power plant projects. It suits a dependable and safety-conscious individual with basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanical technicians and engineers with installation, alignment, and testing of mechanical systems and equipment
• Perform general labor tasks such as material handling, equipment setup, and site cleanup
• Help prepare and maintain startup documentation, including test records and punch lists
• Perform material handling, equipment setup, and general labor tasks to support startup crews
• Follow instructions from startup engineers and electricians to ensure safe and efficient work
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all site safety protocols

Requirements

• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools preferred
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions, drawings, and safety procedures
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work in harsh environments, in stressful situations and during unsociable hours
• Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.

Nice to have:

• Previous experience on construction or industrial job sites
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
• Physically able to lift 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work in outdoor conditions
