Mechanical Engineer Onsite

About This Role

This onsite mechanical engineering role contributes expertise to mission-critical defense systems for radar, missile, and command-and-control platforms. The engineer will participate across the entire product lifecycle, from concept design and analysis to prototyping, testing, and factory support. The role suits a collaborative engineer who can solve complex technical challenges to deliver robust, high-reliability mechanical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and document mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and major end items in accordance with rigorous defense system requirements
• Generate and maintain parametric 3D CAD models, complex assembly hierarchies, and detailed 2D engineering drawings
• Validate design fit, form, and functionality through rapid prototyping, physical testing, and engineering simulations
• Support factory operations, integration facilities, and external suppliers with product manufacturing, assembly, and integration
• Participate actively in design peer reviews, resolve technical action items, and conduct trade studies to inform engineering decisions
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to analyze and resolve complex technical challenges

Requirements

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

Important Details

• Travel: Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers is generally required; international and longer-duration travel assignments are available but optional
