About This Role
This engineering role focuses on global project control activities, promoting consistent functional specifications, and common global processes for project implementation. The work aims to better understand and meet customer expectations, and the individual is responsible for the quality of their own work within a well-defined operational framework.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and develop technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economic viability, etc.) within the pre-procurement (Pre-ITO) process, serving as an interface to the commercial team
- Possess in-depth knowledge of relevant markets and the economic value for customers, contributing to the development of bidding strategies
- Conduct technical analysis of customer needs, define and optimize products, scope (description), schedule, industrial regulations, and costs, considering contractual and internal guidelines and procedures
- Calculate the performance and efficiency of plants, systems, and equipment
- Document technical specifications and costing elements for further phases of contract execution, including the OTR part where engineers adapt and implement products for specific customer requirements
- Develop conceptual knowledge within the technical discipline, potentially including support roles with specialized or broad technical expertise
- Apply general business knowledge developed through education or past experience
- Understand how one's own team's work contributes to the overall area
- Solve problems using established procedures, consulting supervisors or senior team members for issues outside defined instructions or parameters
- Collaborate with others to solve problems
- Develop strong customer relationships and serve as an interface between customers and GE Vernova for customer-oriented roles
- Share technical information, ask questions, and check for understanding
Requirements
- Basic experience in this role
- Knowledge level comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with equivalent experience)
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Strong social and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving skills
