Mechanical Engineer

About This Role

This Mechanical Engineer role supports design efforts across various market sectors, with a primary focus on industrial projects like Semiconductor Manufacturing, Data Centers, and other Advanced Manufacturing initiatives. The ideal candidate will work within a cross-discipline team, collaborating with architects, other engineers, contractors, and clients, potentially under the guidance of a Senior Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical engineering systems and components such as pumps, coils, heat exchangers, and fans
• Perform heating/cooling load calculations
• Select HVAC equipment
• Size air and water plant distribution piping and ductwork
• Conduct ventilation calculations
• Perform pipe stress analysis calculations
• Conduct CFD analysis calculations
• Utilize software tools such as IES, Pipe-Flo, Rhor2, and 6SigmaRoom for calculations
• Create drawings and specifications
• Participate in site walks, code analysis, and project meetings as required

Requirements

• Developing knowledge of mechanical systems design
• Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks (preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• 6+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an engineering consulting firm or similarly related industry
• Professional Engineering license required

• Schedule: Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time
• Other conditions: Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather
