Mechanical Engineer

About This Role

This Mechanical Engineer role supports an upcoming project, providing mechanical engineering expertise, resolving integration and design issues, and supporting cross-pillar technical problem-solving. The position requires an experienced engineer capable of independently managing their activities within the project team.

Responsibilities

• Foster collaboration across engineering and cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive project delivery and technical alignment
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing clear communication and technical insight to support project progress and business development
• Apply relevant procedures, codes, and standards rigorously to all engineering activities, ensuring compliance and technical excellence
• Lead the production and review of engineering outputs including calculations, drawings, models, and reports while maintaining design integrity throughout the lifecycle
• Identify and manage project risks, contribute to safety assessments, and support continuous improvement through technical evaluations and process enhancements

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to implementation
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to complex technical solutions and project outcomes
• Strong track record of producing and reviewing detailed engineering documentation, including calculations, drawings, and technical reports
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders and customers to resolve technical and delivery challenges
• IEng/RSci/IMarEng, mechanical/mechatronic engineering delivery, production/manufacturing experience, integration and technical problem solving; EngTech Level 4+ technical delivery experience
• Good knowledge of various manufacturing processes
• Experience in lean & 5S management
• Project management experience
• Graduate /Post Graduate in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum hands-on experience in Manufacturing Engineering
• Willing to travel to the Customer site & Service providers, as required
• Proactive approach and work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated
• Multifaceted

Nice to have:

• Army vehicle background, MOD/DE&S knowledge, support management, asset management, military equipment experience, stakeholder management
• Exposure to Aero/ Auto industry is preferred
• Awareness of aerospace/auto quality requirements (AS9100, OSHAS, TS 16949, various ISO)
