Title : Mechanical Engineer 1

Location : Sanford, North Carolina

Details : 12-month contract with ongoing need, opportunity for direct hire, fully onsite role

Pay Rate : $28.00 – 30.25/hr. with benefit inclusions

Job Summary We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations, process improvements, and new product introduction activities in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on technical support for assembly processes, equipment, and tooling while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily technical support for assembly operations, including troubleshooting production, process, and equipment issues.
  • Investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and document solutions.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard work and manufacturing processes.
  • Support process, tooling, and equipment improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
  • Balance workloads across production areas to support production targets.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Engineering teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing activities.
  • Support new product introduction initiatives and manufacturing process changes.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Provide hands-on support on the production floor and assist with validation and documentation activities.

Years Of Experience And Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
  • 0-2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Internship or co-op experience will be considered relevant experience.

Skills Required

  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and assembly operations.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem solving.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with process documentation, standard work development, and continuous improvement.
  • Understanding of time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Creo and AutoCAD preferred.
  • Familiarity with automated equipment, test systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), or production controls preferred.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
