Mechanic - Heavy Equipment

About This Role

This mechanic role involves working full-time with a dedicated concrete paving crew, focusing on the assembly, setup, adjustment, maintenance, and repair of various construction equipment. The position suits a mechanic who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure the safe operation of machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, set up, adjust, maintain, and repair all types of construction equipment
• Inspect and diagnose machinery to determine the need for and cost of repairs
• Test and install new or repaired units back into equipment
• Perform minor tune-ups to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the equipment
• Understand system controls, operation, and configurations
• Be familiar with the transportation of equipment

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Two or more years of related mechanic experience and/or training
• Mechanic experience with slipform pavers, concrete placers, and cure/texture machines
• Ability to read and speak fluent English for safety reasons
• Legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States

Nice to have:

• Experience with Gunner & Zimmerman (G&Z) and Gomaco
• Mechanical, welding, and electrical experience
