About the role
The MDS Coordinator RN is responsible for managing the accurate and timely completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI), including the Minimum Data Set (MDS), Care Area Assessments (CAAs), and care planning documentation, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Key duties include
- supervising staff, including interviewing, training, assigning work, and evaluating performance
- resolving employee concerns and participating in performance improvement initiatives
- using independent judgment to support organizational goals
- ensuring staff supervision and compliance with policies
Qualifications require
- RN licensure and CPR certification
- preferably prior MDS/RAI experience, knowledge of PDPM, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory standards
- strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- supervisory experience is advantageous
Strong leadership, independent functioning, and familiarity with software applications are essential. The role supports compliance, reimbursement optimization, and quality care delivery.
