Salary: $70,000 - $75,000/year
Insight Global is seeking a Material Buyer/Planner to join one the team at one of our leading semiconductor clients. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for, but not limited to, performing material planning activities in the Demand, Production, and Supplier Planning functions of customer demand fulfillment in order to ensure total customer satisfaction within required timeline, quality standards, and total cost constraints. Associate level role, looking for a hardworking, organized individual to join a leader in the semiconductor space.
Day-to-Day:
This person is the central communication and coordination point between vendors, operations, and site leadership .
Daily Activities:
Purchase & Material Planning
- Order materials and supplies needed by the facility
- Manage purchasing for everything from routine operational items to highly specialized manufacturing components
- Ensure material availability aligns with production needs
Forecast Management
- Monitor forecasts and inventory requirements
- Ensure production forecasts are supported with materials
- Escalate risks if material shortages could impact labor or production schedules
Vendor Management
- Work directly with approved suppliers
- Follow up on delays and shortages
- Investigate reasons for missed delivery dates
- Work with alternative approved vendors when necessary
Account Ownership
- Become familiar with assigned customers/accounts
- Understand products being built for those customers
- Learn manufacturing needs tied to those products
Communication
- Proactively communicate issues up and down the organization
- Notify vendors and operations teams of changes or delays
- Escalate concerns early rather than work independently in silence

- Ability to learn a proprietary CRM/internal system
Plusses:
- Previous experience in production/materials planning/MRP, QAD preferred.
- Manufacturing/Operational Environment Experience
- Experience working with metals
- Experience working across multiple time zones
Compensation:
$70,000 - $75,000/year
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Healthcare benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, financial protection benefits, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options. 401k retirement account access is offered starting on the 90th day with employer matching after one year of service. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
