Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new, independent publicly traded company, which we’re calling SpinCo, until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs, this role will support SpinCo, which will focus on critical digital infrastructure, delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Material Planner located in BATAM.
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring timely material availability to support production requirements while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing supply risks.
This role acts as a key liaison between Production Planning, Procurement, Sourcing, Program Management, and Manufacturing Operations to ensure uninterrupted material flow and on-time customer deliveries.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer demand, forecasts, and production schedules to determine material requirements
- Execute MRP planning activities and generate material replenishment plans.
- Monitor material supply status and ensure adequate inventory to support production needs.
- Review and maintain planning parameters including allocation flag, safety stock, and reorder points.
- Coordinate with Purchasing teams to ensure timely placement and execution of purchase orders.
- Identify potential material shortages and proactively develop mitigation plans.
- Drive escalation activities with GCM for critical material constraints.
- Conduct regular shortage reviews and communicate risks, impacts, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
- Evaluate material supply risks related to demand changes, allocation situations, and long lead-time components.
- Monitor inventory health and ensure inventory levels are aligned with business targets.
- Analyze excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory and develop reduction strategies.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives and working capital improvement programs.
- Partner with Sourcing and Commodity Managers on supply continuity strategies
- Work closely with Production Planners to ensure material readiness for work order releases.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and product transitions
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Planning, Procurement, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Operations.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing, EMS, semiconductor, or high-volume manufacturing environments is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, LN, BAAN, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- Understanding inventory management principles and supply chain processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience in shortage management.
- Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
