Material Handler

About This Role

This warehouse worker role involves shipping, receiving, and delivering supplies, materials, and equipment, as well as maintaining inventory control and records. The position requires operating various lift equipment and working effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

• Ship and load trucks, checking identification, reporting shortages or damage, and moving, storing, stacking, and arranging items
• Operate a power lift truck, hand truck, dolly, or other devices
• Receive and unload freight both manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Unload, move, and store a variety of materials, parts, or products using standardized procedures for inventory transfer
• Identify, record, and keep like parts together
• Familiarity with inventory and scales materials
• Maintain inventory records, inventory adjustments, ship confirmations, receiving tally, and scrap entry
• Perform cycle counts and other related duties
• Wear the proper PPE and follow safety guidelines and procedures
• Work effectively with others, following company Core Values and Standard of Conduct
• Fill in for other positions when needed
• Perform other related duties as directed

Requirements

• Bilingual
• Ability to work around hot heavy machinery
• Good written and oral communication skills
• 2+ years of shipping experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting
• Forklift certified
• Forklift, standup, and sit-down experience
• Knowledge of Fed Ex or UPS systems
• Ability to use inventory scanners
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and prints
• Multitask and be self-motivated
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
