Material Handler

About This Role

Material Handlers are crucial for maintaining a smooth and efficient production flow at the Columbus facility. This role involves supplying work cells with necessary materials, moving finished goods, and accurately recording inventory movements. It suits a detail-oriented individual who can operate various material-handling equipment and support daily shipping and receiving operations.

Responsibilities

• Supply work cells with materials required for product assembly
• Deliver components to production and transport finished goods to warehouse and shipping
• Assist with cycle counting and help maintain accurate inventory levels
• Use handheld RF scanners to transact materials throughout the facility
• Pick, verify, and pack orders for daily shipments
• Receive, verify, and distribute incoming shipments
• Perform put-aways and maintain organized staging areas
• Operate order picker, swing-reach, and stand-up forklifts for picking, put-away, and material movement
• Maintain forklift certification (training provided if needed)
• Follow all safety rules for production and warehouse areas
• Safely operate equipment and immediately report hazards or near misses
• Maintain organized, safe work areas in accordance with 5S principles
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support production and warehouse flow

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail in material handling and counting
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to cross-train in multiple warehouse and production support areas
• Accurate data entry and comfort using warehouse management tools
• Ability to work at heights as needed
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts to changing priorities
• Able to read, write, and speak basic English
• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn

Nice to have:

• Previous warehouse experience
• Forklift certification (Enerpac will train and certify)

Important Details

• Schedule: Rotating shift, Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; flexible. Saturdays when production needs exist.
