About This Role
Mentoring a team, running service calls, or serving as a Bona Fide Representative for a well-run plumbing franchise operation are all possible arrangements for this Master Plumber role. The position is open to structures that fit the candidate's career goals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Bona Fide Representative under NJ statute, with your license tied to the operations of this Mr. Rooter location
- Ensure the location meets all NJ plumbing regulatory requirements
- Provide project management oversight as required by state and county
- Review and sign off on permit applications
- Ensure safety standards are met by implementing and enforcing safety protocols
- Provide quality control by routinely inspecting the work of our plumbers and supporting staff to ensure it meets regulatory standards
- Interact with customers, local city and government (as needed), and provide guidance to journeymen and apprentice plumbers on our team
- Help customers with various plumbing needs and provide direct oversight of complex jobs (for Working Master or Supervising Master structures)
- Focus on supervision, code guidance, permits, and inspections without daily field service (for Bona Fide Representative structure)
Requirements
- Active NJ Master Plumber License
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- In-depth knowledge of NJ plumbing codes and regulations, as well as national and company plumbing standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Take your license and your professional standing seriously
- Keep your promises to customers and to the team
- Be detail-oriented, especially with code and permit compliance
- Be professional by nature
- Be comfortable with using technology, especially a tablet when in the field
