About This Role
This Master Electrician role supports the installation and servicing of residential energy solutions, ensuring dependable electrical work for smart battery systems. The position focuses on helping homeowners achieve greater energy independence with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance for residential solar and home battery storage systems
- Oversee the installation and integration of solar panels, inverters, battery systems, and electrical panels
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and applicable ESA requirements
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and inspect completed installations for safety and performance
- Coordinate with project managers, solar installers, HVAC technicians, and other trades
- Manage required ESA notifications, inspections, and installation records
- Ensure workplace electrical safety and provide technical guidance to electricians and apprentices
- Support project planning, material selection, and quality assurance
- Coordinate electrical connections for heat pumps and other HVAC equipment within the appropriate scope of work
- Communicate with homeowners regarding installation requirements, technical issues, and electrical safety
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Master Electrician licence issued by ESA
- Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical installation experience, preferably in residential solar PV, battery storage, inverters, and electrical systems
- Valid Ontario electrician Certificate of Qualification, preferably 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, ESA requirements, and electrical safety practices
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and coordinating residential energy installations
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation, if required for field assignments
- Additional G1/G2, 313D/313A, and ODP qualifications are required only if the role includes performing the corresponding regulated gas or HVAC work
