Massage Therapist

About This Role

This role is for a uniquely qualified hospitality leader to be a Massage Therapist, providing optimum service and satisfaction to hotel and restaurant guests and visitors. The Massage Therapist performs various massage treatments and body treatments, ensuring individual performance effectiveness and following proper security and liability measures.

Responsibilities

• Complete all activities listed in the Massage Therapist function checklist
• Perform various marketing duties (upselling) to generate additional revenue
• Provide optimum service and satisfaction to hotel/restaurant guests and visitors
• Show individual performance effectiveness
• Follow proper security and liability measures to protect the assets of the hotel and the Company
• Perform various types of massage treatments, including Swedish, Trager, Sports, etc.
• Perform a variety of body treatments and stay well-versed in new developments
• Prepare and maintain treatment area supplies daily
• Ensure the privacy of each guest
• Attend weekly and monthly departmental staff meetings as requested
• Conduct tours of the facility as needed
• Maintain consistent spa inventory and order supplies as needed
• Promote and sell massage and body products
• Attend product knowledge training as required
• Analyze, consult, and perform massage treatments in a professional and comfortable setting
• Perform 25, 50, and 80-minute deep tissue, sports, prenatal and Swedish massages
• Ensure that the room is cleaned after each treatment and at the end of each shift
• Maintain knowledge of standards and company policies
• Adhere to safety, security, and emergency procedures, react appropriately during emergency situations, and act promptly to correct hazards
• Adhere to security procedures on the handling of guest room keys, the protection of guest-related information, and conduct weekly inventory of guest room keys
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current license(s) and certificate(s) for massage therapy as required by the state, county, city/town
• Minimum one year’s experience as a Massage Therapist
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English and communicate with guests and Team Members of other departments
• Familiarity with a computer and ability to type using a computer keyboard
• Familiarity with operation of office equipment such as copier, printer, facsimile machine, telephone, etc.
