Mason Apprentice Mason

About This Role

This role is for a motivated Mason Apprentice who wants to learn the trade and grow a long-term career with a team that invests in its people, or a skilled Mason who takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team that values experience, reliability, and doing the job right. You will work alongside experienced masons on a variety of commercial and residential projects, learning to lay brick, block, and stone, mix mortar, and support the crew in completing high-quality masonry work.

Responsibilities

• Assist journeyman masons with laying brick, CMU block, stone, and other masonry materials
• Mix mortar and grout to proper consistency and keep materials supplied to the crew
• Set up and take down scaffolding, staging, and work areas
• Cut and shape materials using saws, chisels, and hand tools
• Read and follow basic blueprints, layouts, and instructions from lead masons
• Clean tools, equipment, and job sites at the end of each day
• Load, unload, and move materials around the job site
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Lay brick, CMU block, stone, and other masonry units to plan and specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layouts to determine project requirements
• Establish lines, levels, and layouts to ensure accurate, plumb, and square work
• Install reinforcement, wall ties, flashing, weeps, and grout as required
• Cut, shape, and fit materials using masonry saws

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to lift 50–80 lbs regularly and work on your feet for long periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a team
• Valid driver's license preferred

Nice to have:

• Previous construction, masonry, or labor experience
• OSHA 10 certification
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
